A former stone quarry with extensive underground galleries open to the public with guided tours.
The quarry was used as a military strongpoint by the German Army from early in 1915. Over time the Germans developed it into an underground barracks and fortress and called named it “Die Drachenhöhle” - the Dragon's Cave. In July 1917 the French Army captured the quarry and gradually pushed the German defenders out of it.
Opened as a tourist site from the 1920s, the quarry museum now has a Visitors Centre and café.
